Day 13: The Kings birthday.

Saturday, and because it's the Kings birthday it's a national holiday, the Thais really love their King, so no training today, which suits me fine as I feel a little rough. I guess the intensive training is taking its toll on me after all.

Thursday night, we went with some of the people from the camp to see some Muay Thai fights in Patong Stadium Two students and a young Thai student from our camp and one of our instructors all had fights.

The two western students weren't really matched properly and both won their fights. The other two fights were very good, the young kid won and the instructor lost. The instructor also faced a Thai with some insanely large calfes, way out of proportion. The clip shows some kids who are not to be fucked with.

Yesterday after training we all went to the movies to se "Couples retreat" in a first class cinema. It really was first class: Huge chairs that could almost flatten out to a full horizontal position, a table for the ad lib popcorn and beverage, a blanket and waiter for each row. The film was very comedy light, but intertaining with a predictable happy ending. After the film we had a few beers, the effect of alcohol seemed fortified a lot after two weeks of intense training.

I look forward to next weeks training and I am glad that it seems my body can handle the stress of the training.

Total pushups: 2800
Total situps: 3800
