Sunday, no training, so we decided to arrange a little snorkling trip of our own. We went to the port in Aou Chalong and booked a long tail boat with a boatsman for the day, the first offer was 2000 baht for the day (300 kr) between the 4 off us so no need to haggle and off we went.
We were amazed to find ourselves on a deserted bounty beach after only 30 minuttes on the boat. Ready for the first snorkle of the day, beautifull fish, extremely well preserved coral and great visibility. Bringing a bit of bread is always good fun on a snorkle trip.
During the course of the day our "captain" took us to four different spots for some of the best snorkling I have ever done. We had a nice seafood lunch on small beach, again picture perfect.
What an amazing day, and so close to "touristy" Phuket.
Tomorrow we're back on training, bring it on.

Weekend !!
There´s only the morning session of training on saturdays and we have sundays off... Plus there is no yoga on saturdays, which ment we could sleep in till seven o´clock in the morning, and only train for 3 hours followed by a day off tomorrow.. total luxury..
After lunch we went for a looong massage, then a road trip on the scooters down the coast, to the local aquarium.. Followed by a flat tire.. :o) omg.. But the mentality here is so uplifting and amazing! smiles along the road and everyone pointing us in the right direction of the local mecanic. 15 minutes, a new tube for the tire and 15 kr later, we were back on the road reflated and flying.. Went sightseeing on the roads of downtown Puket, which seemed like a really big city, but we were propably just driving in cirkels.. cause apperently its not... Thinking we were miles away from the camp, it turned out we were just around the corner.
And cause tonight Is saturday, fellt like I had to treat myself with two beers for dinner.. crasy stuff..
Have to get up early tomorrow though.. long snorkling trip ahead. And Anders is dying to take out his new snorkling kit.
Sweet dreams

Day 7: Done training this week
Just finished training this Saturday morning and we now have a day and a half off training. I think its gonna be a little weird not training on Sunday, but we plan to go on a little trip to some island to do some snorkling tomorrow. Getting away from the camp will be good for moral, the afternoon trip on Thursday certainly was.
I really enjoy this place, Thai people are the kindest and most carefree people you'll ever meet. Our instructors take very good care of us.
The head instructor walkes around with a stick and whips people, when they are not paying attention, he also hands out pushups freely. Even though slightly painfull, the whipping is more symbolic. He does not tolerate people taking it easy, but he gives a bit of room for people who seriously needs it.
Finally a little clip of me sparring, filmed and narrated by Anders, who reveals the secret to my success in the ring.
Total pushups: 1600
Total situps: 2400

Day 4 ( and my first blogg ever..)

We were all a bit beat, so we toke the afternoon off, and went snorkling at a nearby beach..
We´ve hired two scooters for a month (500 kr each). The one I was riding, with Anders on the back.. is pink and cant ride up steep hills with two on.. So Tavs had to drive back down to pick up Anders after dropping Rasmus off at the top..

Day 3: More Muay Thai training
Yoga class in the morning, a very good way to get the ol' machinery running, waking up at 6.30 in the mornin
Tree hours of Muay Thai training after yoga. Generally a very nice atmosphere during training, but a few have a hard time sparring at a low power percentage and some times over do it a little which is somewhat annoying. In the beginners class that we are attending we are meant to look for openning, not hurt each other.
Tavs and I had to move bungalow at lunch, unfortunately to a little less luxurious bungalows, not exactly what we booked from home, but still not half bad.
Afternoon training, same as in the morning but with 30 minutes of skip rope as a warmup. Some American dude got a little over excited during sparring and kick my supportive legg kind of hard so now I have a blue big toe. Sparring is a lot of fun though, meant to be at a very low percentage of power and luckily the closest we get to real fighting so far.
I can still do the 100 push ups and 300 sit ups in the end (I split them up), but it gets harder.
After training we eat and again go more or less straight to bed.
Probably taking half a day off tomorrow, even though I think my boxing training is really paying off, my body needs to reconstitute. I drink 6 liters of water during training each day, which is necessary as I'm covered in will power throughout training (read: Sweat).
Total push ups: 1000 (we do a lot during class, not only in the end)
Total sit ups: 1500
Day 2: After afternoon training
Again Muay Thai training, technique class, sparring, padwork and bagwork. We get a lot of one on one time with the instructor which is a nice privilegue.
Went for a run as part of the class, my guess is around 7km, I like running in the heat, and even though my shins and ankles hurt, I feel strong/good. The run took us around some small villages and ricefields (I guess) which was a nice little change of scenery.
As always we were blessed with 200 hundred knees to the bag, 100 front kick, and off course 100 pushups and 300 situps in the end.
After class we eat lovely Thai food, and more or less go straight to bed.

Day 2: After morning training
We have just finished this mornings training, being one hour of yoga, one hour of Muay Thai technique and finally one and a half hour of weapons training (swords).
We were all pretty beat up from yesterdays training, but it seems the yoga class in the morning is a good way to get ready for another day of training.
The sword training gave our shins a little time off before this afternoons training.
Vacation boy Tavs skipped the morning training but will hopefully be back full on for this afternoons training.
The picture shows Katja outside her and Anders bungalow with the restaurant and swimmingpool in the back, not a lot you can get for 2000 kr. a month.
